A running commentary on the new HO scale 10' x 10' model railroad set around summer of 1956 in western Pennsylvania. I take vast liberties with PRR history so that I model the area I grew up near Irwin, East McKeesport, Herminie, and Greensburg.

About Me
- Eric Saunders
- I grew up near Irwin PA and graduated from Penn State ... a while ago. My dad introduced me to model railroading at age 12 with a 3' x 6' HO layout that rolled under my twin bed. I've been modeling off and on for 40 some years. My last layout, recently dismantled, was the PRR in and around Irwin and East McKeesport.
I did get to operate the layout using car cards and waybills with a couple of friends. A move has me in a dedicated train room, and looking to improve the Pennsylvania Railroad Irwin District.
